The state medical examiner’s autopsy into Freddie Gray’s death obtained by the Baltimore Sun revealed that officers placed him on a metal bench in the back of the van after his arrest, but he was not restrained. During a second stop on Baker street, Gray was removed from the van and placed in ankle cuffs, before being slid onto the floor of the van.The medical examiner surmised that Gray may have gotten to his feet at some point during the journey and was thrown into the wall during an abrupt change in direction sometime between the second and fourth stops. Gray was found lying belly down on the floor while facing the cabin compartment by an assisting officer, who then placed him on the bench. Police picked up a second arrestee at a fifth stop, where Gray was found unresponsive, and kneeling on the floor, facing the front of the van and slumped over to his right against the bench. The medical examiner concluded that Gray suffered a severe spinal injury to the lower left part of his head. Gray died a week after the arrest. All six officers involved in Gray’s arrest and transport are facing criminal charges ranging from second-degree depraved heart murder, manslaughter to second-degree assault. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Media Animation’s News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D animated news graphics that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health. The death of Freddie Gray has been ruled by the medical examiner's office as a homicide caused by severe trauma. State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby, the chief prosecutor for Baltimore, announced this morning that her office has also found probable cause to pursue criminal charges in connection to the case. ABC News has confirmed that all six of the police officers are now in custody. Michael Davey, the attorney hired by one of the officers, spoke on behalf of all six saying “these officers will be vindicated because they have done nothing wrong.” “No officer injured Mr. Gray, caused harm to Mr. Gray, and [they] are truly saddened by his death,” Davey said during a news conference this afternoon with the police union. Mosby announced a series of charges now facing the six police officers involved in putting Gray in custody and transporting him in the police wagon on the morning of April 12. The charges vary for each individual, but include several counts of manslaughter, second-degree assault, misconduct in office, and false imprisonment among others. The most serious charge she listed was second-degree depraved heart murder, which only one officer faces. A warrant has been issued for the police officer's arrest, Mosby said. Gray, 25, was taken into police custody in Baltimore on April 12 and sustained a spinal injury during that time that required medical attention. He went into a coma several days later and died a week after his apprehension. Police have never said why they took him into custody in the first place, noting only that he ran from officers, and they have not publicly explained how Gray received the spinal injury. Mosby detailed the findings of her office's independent investigation into Gray's apprehension, and she detailed how officers repeatedly ignored Gray's pleas for help and that officers bound his arms behind his back and put his legs in clamps but did not secure him within the police wagon with a seat belt, which is a violation of Baltimore police policy. One of the biggest findings that Mosby announced was that the decision to take Gray into custody in the first place was unwarranted because the knife that he had is allowed under Baltimore laws. While the knife was able to fold, it was not a switchblade. Mosby urged calm in the wake of the charges, speaking directly to protesters at the end of her news conference. "I heard your call for 'no justice, no peace.' However your peace is sincerely needed as I work to deliver justice on behalf of Freddie Gray," she said. In an open letter today before Mosby's news conference, the Baltimore City Fraternal Order of Police asked Mosby to appoint a Special Independent Prosecutor.

Six Baltimore police who were involved in the arrest of Freddie Gray have been charged in the death of the 25-year-old man who died last month while in police custody. Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby charged Caesar Goodson Jr., the officer driving the police transport van in which Gray was riding, with second degree depraved heart murder while the other officers were charged with involuntary manslaughter, assault, failure to render aid and misconduct in office. "Six Baltimore police officers have been charged, including one with murder, in the death of a black man who was arrested and suffered a fatal neck injury while riding in a moving police van, the city's chief prosecutor said on Friday. Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby said Freddie Gray, who died a week after his April 12 arrest, was in handcuffs and shackles but otherwise was not restrained inside the van. The officers failed to provide medical attention to Gray even though he asked for help on at least two occasions. The death of 25-year-old Gray has become the latest flashpoint in a national outcry over the treatment of African-Americans and other minority groups by U.S. law enforcement. After a night of rioting in Baltimore on Monday following Gray's funeral, protests spread to other major cities in a reprise of demonstrations set off by police killings last year of unarmed black men in Ferguson, Missouri, New York and elsewhere." -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "The Greatest Lie Ever Told - What The Elites Don't Want You To Realize" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csAqd0YKebc -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-
